Candy Store + Record Store With Jamie

I’ve shot with Jamie at a laundromat before Christmas. This time, we decided to try shooting at a candy store and a record store to again, stay indoors and keep warm. Shooting indoors definitely puts me out of my element and makes it a challenge. Jamie is so great to work with, so shooting with her definitely helped me out!

We initially met up in Kensington at around 10:30 a.m. to shoot at the candy store on 10th. However, that store didn’t open until 11:00 a.m. so we sat down at Starbucks around the corner for a hot drink while we waited. Once the candy store opened up, we jumped in and kindly got permission to shoot photos while we shopped for candy! I don’t know who would leave a candy store empty handed, but that’s just me. After we finished shooting there, we filled up some take out containers of candy before heading to Recordland, which was our next location to shoot.

This was the first time either of us had visited Recordland. If you haven’t been there, definitely check it out. They’ve literally got it all! Not only that but the store is much bigger than you would expect. It was a great time to be able to shoot photos while we looked through all the kinds of records and music they had available. From remembering the ‘oldies’ we used to listen to growing up, to the new music we hear now everyday.

From the shoot, here is what I came up with! Maybe next time we will shoot some portraits in the mountains ;)
