Shoot. Every. Day.

Looking back at 2022, I realized I didn’t shoot photos all that much. At first, I was just frustrated that I felt like I haven’t taken any “portfolio worthy” photographs in the last couple years. It was only when I looked through my photo archive of the recent past years that I realized I just simply didn’t put in the time to shoot.

To change that, I made it a conscious decision to pick up my camera every day and make at least 1 photo. Within the first week of doing so, I quickly realized that 1 photo often led to another…and then another and so on. It didn’t matter if it was just some photos around the house or if I decided to take my camera on a little walk somewhere in the city. So far, I’ve been able to capture some details that I wouldn’t have noticed if it wasn’t for my camera. This is the sole reason why I enjoy photographing in the first place. The camera has always been a positive excuse to slow down, enjoy and document beauty in life.

A quick thought while on the topic of shooting more - I recently watched the documentary Garry Winogrand: All Things Are Photographable. Winogrand is a well known, New York born photographer who shot millions of photographs. He left hundreds of thousands undeveloped but the key takeaway is that you can’t make great photographs without consistently shooting.

Below are some of my favourites that I’ve shot since shooting everyday.
