Short Film | Brandon’s 2013 Mitsubishi Evo X

So some of you may know that I originally got into photography through video work. I started out purchasing my first camera with the intention of filming my friends and I skateboarding. Over time, I began to explore many different types of photography. Now, 7 years later, I find myself going back to rediscover film making.

I don’t have much for experience, and I definitely don’t have the gear for it. So in this short film, I used what I have (my iPhone) and came up with this:

I definitely learned a lot from this. I put a lot of effort into research, planning, execution, and editing. I have a lot more to learn and I couldn’t be more excited! I’d love to make more videos like this, so if you are interested in collaborating, shoot me a message! Maybe soon I’ll upgrade to a better camera for videos.

Shouts to the YouTube channel, Cars Onboard for the main source of my inspiration. For anyone looking to start doing photography or cinematography, or anything for that matter, here is my advice to you;

If you want to get good at something, find something or someone that does whatever it is that you want to do, and does it well. Use them as your inspiration. Watch what they do, study their work, research and plan. Then, figure out what they do, how they do it well, and try to copy it and produce something similar. I’m not saying you should copy everything that they do, because that just makes your work a duplicate of theirs. But over time, you will learn things, get better and be able to use your own creative mind to change things and do things differently. As long as you learn from your actions, you will never lose. Keep trying, keep learning, and keep progressing.

Thanks for watching!
